I am a member of an original fic comm called pulped_fictions, and there is a new challenge there that I thought some of you might find interesting.
Note that the comm is closed, but if you ask to join, you should have no trouble getting in. :-)
Find your wackily ever after at pulped_fictions
Sign up, and you’ll be given a personalised bingo card containing prompts based on fairy tales. To play you have to select a line of prompts or four corners and the middle square to write/draw.
You can do anything you want with your prompts, so this is your opportunity to bend a fairy tale to your artistic will. You can either come up with your own fairy tale to draw/write based on traditional fairy tale tropes, rewrite/draw an existing one with a twist (instead of turning a pumpkin into a carriage the fairy godmother accidentally sends Cinderella forward in time), or write/draw a sequel or prequel to an existing fairy tale to explore the possibilities (Cinderella gets divorced, etc.). You can use anything as a basis, from the Disney version to the brothers Grimm to Indian or Nordic tales, and be as traditional or as modern in your telling as you like.
