( This is a cut for a long stream of consciousness conversation with myself that should be of little interest to anyone else but that I want to remember and don't mind if the curious may check out. )

Comments seem somewhat inappropriate here, and yet I process everything through conversation as well. goodtexan and edwarddain should compare notes at some point.

For most of us, an offer to talk is a way to show that we care. After all, we're not usually physically there to provide a hug or a hand-squeeze, and sending flowers seems a bit extreme (although whether it is extreme could be a topic of conversation on its own).

So, I'll probably still ask if you want to talk, but I won't be upset if the answer is "No."
