This place really is just incredibly strange. The weapons shop didn't accept my gp and when I asked about alternate methods they just directed me to the job listings instead of offering a quest or something ( Read more... )

the coliseum, gaignun (fadetonigredo), job, ledah (thelostseraph), jr. (bulletserenade), nina (blackmagicangel), i'd rather be a professional adventurer, revya (prodesto_hero)

. . . Quest.

Tell me. Does your world include any or all of the following: character stat sheets, character classes, NPCs, PCs, weapons with numeric modifiers, fetch quests, quest items, Bags of Holding, superglue, and most importantly, Red Mages.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and mages who wear red, sure, but I suspect that's not what you're actually asking.

. . . It was both his name and his class.

Hmph. I suppose this means he wasn't delusional after all. That, or your entire world bears the same mental affliction, but that seems doubtful.

I wouldn't call genre savviness a mental affliction.

. . . Genre what? Is this the belief that we live in a world within a game governed by numbers?

Savviness. And it's not a belief, it's more of a sense. I don't need to believe that tree is over there, I can see it. By that same merit, I don't need to believe I have Skill Points when I can feel that they're there.

Perhaps you have spent too many of those in Suffer: Hallucination. I do not know how you people manage to live this way.

I don't know how you can live without them! It must waste so much time to have to practice all your skills instead of just putting skill points into them.

There is more to life than inputting a series of numbers into a database and calculating equations.

Well, of course there is. There aren't any rules for falling in love, for example, and it'd be a pretty sad life without that.

Love . . . ? Hmph. That is the least of my concern.

At the very least, you appear to believe in gods. Are they governed by these same numbers?
