In hindsight, the moment she saw the green sprig hanging from the archway she should have known things wouldn't be going well that night, but then Rachel had swept her up into a kiss that still had her tingling hours later and she'd forgotten how to breathe. Then the doorbell had rang and she'd been too focused on regaining her composure.
Quinn had been admiring the brunette's dress the first time it happened. Red was really Rachel's color and and that dress just hugged her in all of the right places. Quinn's fingers itched to remove it. She just needed to make it through this party. Which wasn't going to happen if she didn't stop staring at the other girl. Kurt came over then, talking to Quinn about the surprising stylishness of the Berry abode. She and Kurt had once bonded over a love of HGTV programming and it wasn't long before they got into a rather riveting conversation about Property Virgins when a movement out of the corner of her eye caused her to turn and look just as Finn Hudson's face was moving toward Rachel's and their lips met.
Fist clenching at her side, Quinn tried not to growl as she watched the exchange. It wasn't anything more than a lingering peck, but it lasted far longer than she thought necessary. Rolling her eyes, she returned to the conversation with Kurt.
"They don't really make all that cute of a couple anyway," Kurt said, resting a reassuring hand on her arm. "And their children would be hideous."
Quinn chuckled at the comment, the image of children with Finn's sloping forehead and Rachel's nose filled her head.

The next time it was Mike Chang. He was pressing a light kiss on Rachel's lips just as Quinn was bringing out a new tray of treats. She ignored it, moving across the room to set the tray down. It wasn't a big deal. They didn't know she and Rachel were together and really it was just Mike. He was harmless really. But just to be safe, maybe she figured she should find a way to get Rachel to stand someplace else.

A shriek came out of nowhere and Quinn looked up just in time to see Puck had lifted Rachel over his shoulder and was carrying her across the room. He didn't let her down until they were standing underneath the mistletoe and he planted a big kiss on her mouth, making a big show of groping at her body until she giggled. Quinn envied the easy way Puck handled the smaller brunette, a wistful sigh escaping. She wished it was that simple for her. That she could just walk up and kiss Rachel and have it be okay, but she knew that wasn't the truth. Kissing Rachel in front of everyone would rock her already shaky, new-found status. Quinn Fabray, head Cheerio, would have remained unscathed, but Quinn Fabray, pregnant glee club member didn't really carry the clout.
"Noah!" Rachel slapped his hands away but the smile on her face as she looked up at him was bright.
"Are you okay, Quinn?" Brittany asked, her blue eyes full of concern.
"I'm fine. Why?" Quinn replied.
"You just crushed your cookie."

When Brittany kissed Rachel, Quinn had had enough. What the hell was going on with their friends? Most of the time they acted like they couldn't stand Rachel, but it didn't seem to stop them from taking the opportunity to feel her up under the mistletoe. Well, she'd had enough. Walking over to Rachel, she pulled the future Broadway star away before Matt had a chance to get a quick peck in.
"Quinn!" Rachel protested as the blonde pulled her into the kitchen.
"Rachel, what the hell are you doing?"
The brunette's brow wrinkled in confusion. "What do you mean what am I doing?"
What was confusing about what she'd said? "Rachel, you've made out with practically every person that's in the room!"
"Oh...that?" Rachel asked with a little chuckle, quickly sobering as she caught the blonde's glare. "That was hardly making out, Quinn, of which I am certain you are well aware."
Ignoring the urge to snap at her girlfriend, Quinn took a deep breath. "Since when do you kiss people other than me?"
"That wasn't really kissing. Our friends were just...joking around."
"Joking around? Half of the glee club deciding to feel up my girlfriend is not JOKING AROUND!"
"Well Quinn, I'm sure they didn't mean anything by it. It's not like they know that I'm your girlfriend, but they will if you don't keep your voice down."
Seeing red, Quinn grabbed Rachel's hand and pulled her back into the crowded room. She heard the room fall silent as she dragged the girl behind her to the archway. Sliding her fingers into long, dark locks, holding Rachel still as her lips descended on the other girl's. She felt Rachel freeze for a moment before practically melting into the kiss, moaning softly as her mouth opened for Quinn's seeking tongue. They stayed looked in the embrace until Rachel's hand started pulling at the zipper on the back of her dress. She pushed at the girl's shoulders gently, taking a step back. Rachel buried her face into the side of Quinn's neck. The blonde turned her head, glaring at the others in the room. "Is there a problem?"
"Well, it's about time," Santana said smugly. "Of course my plan would work before I got to reap benefits other than the knowledge of being right." Quinn glared over at her friend and the Latina shrugged. "I just heard that Berry was a good kisser."
"She is," Brittany volunteered, earning scowls from both Quinn and Santana.
"So all of you knew?" Rachel asked.
"Well, you two weren't exactly stealth," Kurt chimed in. "Saying you two were late to glee because you were helping Miss Pillsbury clean out her office would have been more believable if Rachel hadn't come in wearing Quinn's lipstick."
"Plus, me and Tina saw you two last week in the parking lot, making out in Quinn's car," Mercedes added.
All this time she'd been trapped in her own paranoia and all of her friends had known and they didn't even care. Santana and Brittany hadn't used the information to destroy her. Puck, Matt, and Mike hadn't thrown slushees in her face. Finn hadn't turned the rest of the gleeks against her. In fact, they all looked pretty happy for them. She felt her eyes water and turned away, muttering, "damn pregnancy hormones..."
Rachel smiled up at her, kissing her on the cheek. "I told you it was innocent."
"But we wouldn't mind another show," Puck said, grinning and high-fiving Matt and Mike.
Quinn did her best to ignore Finn's "mailman" look as she leaned forward and pecked Rachel on the lips.
