Might as well toss a few tidbits of my life out on here again. :p
Going through classes decently enough. I'm probably gonna get some A's, some B's, and maybe a C this semester. That's fine with me, because I'm passing things. :) Meaning I'll graduate on my (2.5-year late) schedule.
Oh, out of boredom (and for an extra grade in one of my classes), I entered the 15th annual Japanese Language Speech Contest, sponsored by the Japan-America Societies of Texas and San Antonio. Being the lazy bum that I am, I wrote my speech 5-6 days before the contest, finished the final draft the day before, and memorized what I could the morning of the contest. ^^;; After all that, I managed to pull off 3rd place! I got a very pretty and HUGE trophy. Makes me wonder what I could do if I had tried my hardest. There's so much potential in me, that just isn't harnessed very often...
A native Japanese teacher of some of the other contestants congratulated me later on, and told me *gasp* that I had the best pronunciation out of anybody else in the contest, and I sounded the most Japanese. o.O; I was very shy and embarassed by this, but it was a nice ego-stroke underneath it all. ^_-
Only four or so weeks left in the semester, and I'm ready for it to end. A month break to lounge in San Antonio sounds VERY good right about now. I get to enjoy X-mas, then head back up to Austin to finish my next-to-last semester of classes, and possibly work nights full-time at IRS during that semester, as well o_o I hope I can manage to work AND do classes without freaking out. It'll be new for me.
