I'm enjoying my first real monsoon season in the Mojave Desert. I think its a fitting going away present courtesy of mother nature ;)
For whatever reason, last year's season fizzled out before I even really arrived.
So far this week its been overcast, threatening to rain (but not doing it), dazzling us with amazing displays of heat lightning, and *gasp* actually raining every single day. Not bad for a place that only averages 4 inches of rain in a good year.
The desert has an amazing scent after a rain. The sky here seems so big.
There are some things I will miss.
