The hospital was neutral territory, but that doesn't mean Ana trusted the other side as far as she could throw them. Coming this close to them meant that Ana got an itchy spot between her shoulder blades, and she didn't trust Sarah or Amanda not to decide to violate the neutral territory pact because of the way that things were so screwed up right now. Her glasses had shown him walking out of the hospital, and she didn't see anyone on the other side. Of course that didn't mean anything, not really.

After a second, Ana walked towards him, her gait purposeful and balanced on impossibly high heels. Her hands were spread out in front of her, despite the fact that there were two blaster pistols on her hips and another gun strung across her back. Dressed in leather, as always she studied the boy who was wearing robes, and idly she wondered if he really shaved yet.

For a moment she didn't say anything, but then she spoke. "Too bad asking for a secret code word would have been completely ridiculous."

As she approached, he drew his wand; he had absolutely no intention of pretending he didn't have one - not here. Muggle Secrecy Act or none, it seemed the old rules had stopped applying the minute he woke up in that exam room. Let her see it, then ( ... )

Hmm. Wand. Ana wasn't unfamiliar with those; she'd seen people with them before, and she'd seen people use them before. For a moment, it made her consider him differently, and her eyes moved over him, scouring him in an alert manner behind the shades of the glasses that she wore. Ana Lewis had once upon a time been an avid reader, and had loved books the way fat kids loved cake. She'd liked the Harry Potter books once upon a time, and they'd proven useful to her more than once here.

Now she was wondering about them again.

When he informed her of how ridiculous she looked, Ana laughed. Once upon a little time, she'd heard that before, and now she was sizing him up differently, the surprise and shock hidden by her face. "Oh darling," she announced, in a soft, amused voice. "The more things change, the more things stay the same."

The way she looked him over when he drew his wand suggested to him that she wasn't unfamiliar with the item. She'd seen them before. She knew what a wand could do, in the right hands. Lily, perhaps?

The remark she made was cryptic. What did she know?

"It seems to me there's a joke I've missed." And possibly, I'm the butt of it. He scowled at her, his fingers tightening around his wand. "It's only polite to fill me in, wouldn't you say?"
