[Who:] Alice Abernathy, Open
[What:] Awake & On the Move
[When:] Early morning, Day 5
[Where:] Streets of Area 15

Soft sheets turned down hospital corners on a mattress-creature comforts the sprawled brunette had almost forgotten in the years since the Outbreak five years ago-her green eyes shot open, pupils fixed and dilate. Automatic hands feel for the weight of her holstered weapons as the woman smoothly moved from the bed to floor sweeping the room then floor-a hotel room: clean-- she was alone as she had been for the last two days, and there came an all too familiar creeping sense of amnesia edging its way to the front of her mind:

If this wasn’t the Arcadia then where was she?

She had spent the morning surveying and securing her immediate perimeter, salvaging what items and information she could from the thousands of corpses that littered the streets as she went out into the city. As bad the bodies were, the dead had displayed grotesque telltale signs of an once active infection. Whatever had caused the massive extinction event was as sudden as it was prolific to have left the rest of the city relatively unaffected, and perhaps to Alice may have been the most disturbing of all, that despite every decay chunk of human carnage to the contrary it appeared Area 15 and the world had carried on without them.

Which also lead her to conclude that there were others survivors out there thriving and that was enough to keep Alice on the move. Then the bodies started to move hungrially and suddenly Alice began to feel a whole lot more at home.
