Arthas scanned her head-to-toe immediately when she appeared, mostly trying to judge threat. Not armed. Not armored. Desk job. Yes, even on Azeroth they have desk jobs. And there was the mark on her hand - he didn't quite relax when he saw it, but he did loosen his grip on the sword at his side.

At some level, she registered as pretty, but it wasn't terribly important. An ally and an asset, rank still unknown, and going to debrief him. It didn't really matter whether that had been her intention or not; he'd gotten her attention, he needed information, and she probably had it. That was generally his definition of 'ally.' Someone who would help him whether they wanted to or not. And if they usually wanted to help anyway, that was probably the closest he got to 'friend.'

"It was fine. Bennet?"

"A Death Knight of the Scourge. And, for now, on your side." He smirked. He was surprised no one had recognized his name yet. At the least, though, they would recognize that. He drummed his fingers on the pommel of his sword absently.

"What's your rank, Claire?"

"Good, so am I."

Any (almost any) wound without the use of magic? That was damn interesting, he'd never heard of that. Regeneration.

"What are the limits of that?"

He paused and then frowned.

"Have you heard of the Scourge? The plague of Lordaeron?"

"Outbreak?"

Arthas could have been called handsome when he was alive, and his face still had some remnants of that, but when he grinned all of that went out the window. His eyes picked up an unnatural sheen and his lips were a drowned grey against his teeth.

"How long ago was that?"

"The undead are very useful if controlled correctly. So it's transmitted by bite?"

He reached out to the six ghouls he had patrolling the entrances to the base. He hadn't brought them inside because they were generally not the cleanest of creatures, but ...perhaps they would be even more useful than just cannon fodder and manual labor. He was going to have fun here, oh yes.

"What happened when you were... reset?"

"And this is a... common experience? Or just you?"

[darknessb4me]

"Either."

[darknessb4me]

"Death Knights kill the living."

He grinned again and clicked his teeth.

"Which is why I'm asking: how often do people come back when you kill them?"
