What: Hermione asks to borrow the Harry Potter books. The fourth wall is mere dust on the wind.

She couldn't help herself; she was incredibly curious. Wouldn't anyone be, if they were told that there had been seven books written about- well, if not their life, then their friend's life? From everything Ana had told her, Hermione supposed that she must feature reasonably prominently in the novels if she knew so much about her. And now she had the chance to read them...
Of course, that wasn't why she was supposed to be getting the books. No. They might help convince Lucius Malfoy not to defect, that was all. Still- could a peek hurt?
Probably.
She steeled herself against temptation, knowing it was probably futile- they were books, after all, she had never been able to resist the temptation of books- and knocked sharply on the door of Martha's office in the hospital, wondering if she was even inside. "Dr Jones? It's Hermione," she called- after all, in a place like this, she'd be cautious about who she opened the door to.
