[Who:] Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness
[What:] A reunion and an explanation.
[When:] Shortly after Jack's communication.
[Where:] A hospital corridor.
[Warnings:] None as yet.
Jack. Jack was here. She'd been waiting and hoping for someone from home for as long as she could remember. Each time Martha'd placed the request into the Hood, she'd hoped that it would somehow bring the Doctor and the TARDIS, or Jack and his vortex manipulator. So far, there'd been nothing like that at all. But no, now Jack was here and he was real and he sounded just like she'd remembered. He sounded like home.
God Martha'd missed home.
She hurried through the hospital, looking for him, going back and retracing her steps from earlier. By this time, many of the rooms had been cleared of the bodies that had been left there, and Martha no longer felt the need to cover her face to keep the smell out. Oh, the smell was there, and it was painful where it lingered, but it would eventually go away now that the cause was gone. Funny how she hadn't smelled that in three years, but it was unforgettable the stench of such decay.
Martha touched the pocket of her scrubs, making sure the syringe filled with sedative was still there. Severus seemed to have left the hospital, but she didn't want to come across someone else that she didn't expect. Her voice was confident when she called for him. "Jack?"
