With the recent heavy rains the area has had, the local rivers have risen above their banks and flooded lots of fields, roads and parts of towns. The town I work in had to evacuate part of the town due to the rising Rock River. The sheriff's office closed most of the roads in and out if the city early last night, which made a very short work shift for us. So this morning I went for a little drive around town to see what the Big Sioux River was up to. Took a few pictures of what I encountered. Oh, and the river hasn't crested yet. That's not for two more days and two more feet.
The south, north and west roads leading in and out of town are flooded over by the river. Only the east road is open. These pictures are of the west and north roads. Local police had the south road closed off to everyone.
