[getting the lay of the land]

After having spoken with Sarek and Spock the previous day - learning what has happened to Vulcan, once her adopted planet, birthplace of her son - Amanda passes a sleepless night in Sarek's arms, and rises, head pounding, early enough that he hasn't even woken yet. 0458 hours. That would be...gamma shift, then. It'll be quiet. A skeleton crew, or as much of a crew as would be needed to keep such a huge ship running.

She splashes her face with water in the bathroom...stares a moment at the dark circles under her eyes...dresses in the clothing she'd arrived in, and, taking one of the PADDs from the workstation and tucking it into the pocket in her skirt, slips silently out of Sarek's quarters. Then she picks a direction and walks, bringing up the layout of the Enterprise on the little screen and following along as she goes.

Observation deck. Deserted, and as good a place as any. She curls up on one of the bench seats in the far corner, overlooking the shuttle bay, and bites her lip as she looks through the Enterprise's information database.

Amanda Irene Stemple (Grayson) Sarek, b. 2209.14, Seattle, United States, Earth, d. 2254.165, Shi'Kahr region, Vulcan -

S'chn T'gai Sarek, b. 2164.77 -

S'chn T'gai Spock.

Timeline of Vulcan history.

History of the Terran Empire. This information does not exist.

"Could've guessed that," she murmurs to herself, entering Timeline of Earth history instead.

The headache throbs behind her eyes.
