New ideas
As much as I love new story ideas when they pop into my head, I feel like I'm cheating on my original story by pursuing it. The Hypernia Series has been in my head for the better part of two years, but it comes to me in fits and starts. I'll be insanely inspired for a time, then I'll run into a block. I've been doing a lot of outlining, but I'm wondering if it will really help me as much as I want it to when I start writing.
Then I thought up a way to present another story idea that's been bouncing around in my skull and I wonder if I should follow that or try to finish Hypernia first. At this rate, someone else might write my story before I get around to it.
The mind of a writer is littered with so many half-thought out ideas that it's nuts. It was also suggested to me that I write this second story for NaNO in a few months, but I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to participate in that. I have two months to decide, so there's no huge rush. Let's just hope things work out with each of these stories.
