You Can Dress-Up like a Sultan in Your Onionhead Hat

Hello my lovely monkeys.
Nice quiet extended weekend. We didn’t do much, just mostly hung around this house, but that fine with me.

Friday’s game went well. In summery, the players got into some more mischief, while traveling with Skandik raiders (read Norsemen) they came upon Shedezar, a town nasty little town full of bandits. The party made a deal with the bandits, they would provide party with the black lotus they were looking for and in exchange the party would steal a shipment of bows heading to a City State outpost, seems the city state is arming up for another big push into the wilds of Atlantis and being no friends of the Overlord they readily agreed. The party pulled off the ambush fairly smoothly, though the captain of the guard gave them some trouble. They took prisoners which they are planning to sell off as slaves. Yeah they are not nice people, but then the Wilderlands isn’t a nice place.

On Saturday we saw X-Men. Overall I liked it. It was entertaining to watch. I’d have to say it’s my least favorite of the three. Too short for as many things they had going on. Should have either done the Dark Phoenix story or done the Mutant Cure story but not both. Too much Halie Berry, the woman may be pretty enough to look at, but Academy Award or not, she’s a horrible actress with about as much charisma/personality as a wet dish rag.
I know that Magneto’s followers we supposed to be the Morlock’s, Marvels idea of mutant punks back in the 80’s, so I guess it makes sense that they looked like rejects out of some bad 80’s video; but I half expected them to break into singing “Love is a Battlefield” or “Beat it” at any moment and couldn’t help but snicker at them, especially when they delivered lines.
I had seen spoilers so I was expecting the deaths and perhaps because of that wasn’t bothered by them, though the off screen one makes me suspicious.
McKellen put in another great performance as Magneto as did Stewart as Xavier.
I liked Kitty a lot, she was a good actress for the part, Juggernaut was cool, Multiple Man, what they showed of him, was also cool.
Talking about the move afterwards on the drive home cat and I speculated on what we’d liked to see in the next one, providing there is one
Put this whole Xavier returns thing on the backburner, or as a subplot.
Based on his “What have I done” remark have Magneto start to believe that Charles might have been right after all. Much like he did during the 80’s in the comics, have circumstances be such that he ends up running the school, or at least be trying to seek redemption though the team, probably in secret from the general public.
Insert team strife over allowing him in.
Mystique regains her powers and forms her own Brotherhood, seeing Magneto as a traitor and weak for abandoning his quest against the homo-sapiens.

There has been some development on my superhero game system quest. After talking to Wade some he suggested I give DC Heroes/Blood of Heroes a try. So this weekend Kat and I tried it out, were still learning the system, but so far we like it and had a good time.
