I swear I’m addicted to Marvel. I spent way too much time searching for avatars…
…seriously though. I believe comic story arcs fill some kind of postmodern anthropological need. It’s as if we somehow replaced the gods of ancient mythology with another version of character. There’s somehow this pop cultural compulsion to project qualities of the human psyche onto archetypes of figures with superhuman qualities. Why is this?
Of course this raises the following question: did the folks of ancient Greece speak of personality in terms of mythic figures? Would an ENTJ more popularly have been understood to be like, oh…say, Zeus?
