Niiiiissahn!!!

Ah, there's nothing as refreshing as a good bicker with good friends. This weekend's bickering covered:
  • spam (evil)
  • Tivo (good)
  • hiring a maid (lazy)
  • whether that one Burger King is now a KFC (no)
  • who was in the front seat during the accident at said BK seven years ago (unsettled)
  • Burger King vs In-n-Out (this veggie doesn't care)
  • who was supposed to call whom when to get together (Eric, me, ASAP)
  • what brand name the 1984 Pulsar NX was made under, Nissan or Datsun (Niiiiissahn!!!)
Heather, Humphrey, Phil, and I drove to LA for another Roz party (except for Mr. Party Pooper, who didn't go to the party). The theme for this one was Glam Rock Fairy Tale. It was an unusually Porter-oriented affair and quite fun: Saw some neat people I hadn't seen in some time, watched a moderately enticing strip-tease, peeked in on some minor scandal, and ate cheese.

While sitting on the patio at the party, we had to listen to a woman in a leopard-print outfit sitting near us go on about soulmates, how we're really all one soul, vibrations, energy, and suchlike to the point that I was expecting her to touch on faeries and Phil was waiting for vril energy. The only reason we didn't laugh in her face was that we were behind her. The boyfriend of the woman she had buttonholed actually did laugh in her face.

Jesus sponsored this hotrod.

The highlight of the trip, though, was once again finding Real Coke in a market near Roz's party. Real Coke is Coke made with cane sugar (sucrose) rather than "high fructose corn syrup". Even the Mexican bottled Coke that you get in taquerias is made with corn syrup, but this is the real thing. I noticed it tasted better before I even read the label and saw what I was drinking.

So that was the weekend. Topped off with a trip to Vallarta, it was Good.
