Whee, Wildlife!

Oh, and I made a new friend today! If Wolverine and Spiderman had a love child...
My wildlife photography sucks, but Bubba is, I believe, a Carolina wolf spider, the largest I've ever seen.
Bubba and I met in the bathroom closet, where I'd just put up some towels and then whatthehelljustmoved. He (well, more likely she, spiders being spiders) was just walking up the inside of the closet door. I went to fetch my largest glass, with a four inch diameter top (a little less than ten centimeters). When I put the glass over her, while she was still in walking position, her legs extended beyond the edges of the glass. All flattened out she'd be... well, big. Let's go with that.
Of course the usual hijinks ensued, Bubba, thick envelope, and cup wound up on the floor, Melangel stepped between the spider's legs and then was all "what the shit is that!" and bolted from the bathroom (it's hard to believe she was feral once), etc. Bubba was recaptured and deposited outside (where it's more than warm enough for her and her prey, no worries) where she may continue the Circle of Liiiiife. And possibly bite a mockingbird. Serve the little bastards right.
And now I'm off to exercise! Yay! And probably be dive-bombed by crazed birds! Whee, what fun!
