Saw "Souvenir of Canada" at the Bytowne last night. It was really interesting... Basically a documentary by Douglas Coupland about the creation of an art installation called "Canada House". It was basically a typically Canadian suburban post-war house that he painted completely white inside and filled with still life arrangements of objects that highlight the Canadian identity. Boat floats from the Charlottes, a bathtub full of mussel shells, a blown up photo of Terry Fox's sock, beer cans, all kinds of neat stuff. It was pretty cool, and the shots of Vancouver (the hoolow tree in Stanley Park, the beaches on the North Shore, Mount Baker) made me HOMESICK! I miss the ocean! The trees!

Anyways, tonight Lisa, Jackie, Vanessa, and I (and maybe Fred) are going to the hill or somewhere to watch the show and the fireworks.

I'd better get to work. It's going to be a madhouse at Rideau Centre today.
