087 - sing me to sleep and then leave me alone [text]

I never knew my father growing up. When I tracked him down, before coming here, he told me that we have to kill. It's who we are. "Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly." Morality doesn't play into it, he said. Sometimes, it's just who people are. Predators, prey. Sometimes we have no choice.

[Oh Jesus fuck. And everyone is glad that Tim can control his face so strictly.]

How do you normally start a change?

[He switches back to text, because he hates the voice.]

I woke up like this. It won't change back. I can't change back.

So, back home. When you want to use this ability, how do you go about it?

I just focus. I picture who I want to be. The change happens. I don't think about it-- I never think about it.

Well right now you need to think about it. Start small - start with the beard. I imagine that's easier than trying to move bones.

[Spam? We can go slow, I just can't see Tim not going over there.] peektuttut April 11 2011, 21:36:35 UTC
[Yeah sure, Sylar, Tim will just leave you alone. :| Except not because soon enough he's knocking on the door.]

[Spam!] Yeah, of course. gray_atonement April 11 2011, 22:10:19 UTC
[Sylar kind of expects Tim to come over, but he's still paranoid when he hears the knock. He moves over toward the door and, while he considers speaking, he doesn't want to reveal himself if it's Cissie, so he just listens silently for the person to either identify themselves or go away.]

[Tim doesn't wait long; he knocks again, and speaks up.] It's Tim. Let me in.

[He waits just another beat, hesitating, before he finally opens the door, ensuring that he stays behind it. Sylar's eyes were still his own and his hair was darker than before, but the rest of him still resembled his father. Shutting and locking the door immediately after Tim enters, the killer returns to the small mirror on his desk, glaring at his reflection.]

"I didn't even think I could stay like this for so long, that the Barge would allow it. Maybe it's that I can't control it. That it's trying to teach me a lesson." [He pauses.] "I spent half the day as you, when you left for home. I've accidentally shifted into others as well, but it was never this bad. I thought I could control it."

[He shoves his paranoia away, because though it's telling him to check before entering, he knows that Sylar would want to hide himself, so in he walks. He stands next to the older man at the desk, arms crossed thoughtfully.]

Are any of your other powers affected by how you feel? [It was obvious this was. He thought it was also obvious that he'd been right to try and talk things over with Sylar after the flood, but.

[Sylar glares down at his reflection a moment longer before looking up to Tim. He growls helplessly and moves over to the bed instead, dropping to sit angrily on its edge. The killer immediately lifts his hands to cover his face, only growing more frustrated with how unfamiliar it all feels.]

[He doesn't want to admit to being emotional about this, but he realizes how obvious it is.] "Yes. The radioactivity, the painting. My own."

So what do you do? How do you control it? I know you do. [He's keeping his voice calm, hoping tha'tll influence Sylar.]
