I guess you can't really blame people for being so afraid after what happened last time.. Churchill himself said, "It is better to be frightened now than killed hereafter." It's not worth the death toll to prove your foolish bravery. If you are weak, cower. If you know yourself to be strong enough, then there's nothing to fear anyway.
