Well, finally got all but one text book for classes next week, and under $400.00 which is good. Expected it to be about 600 after discovering the campus store didn't have any used books. Still looking at laptops and have narrowed it down to three I like ( and are within my budget ). On the even better side, got to hook up with a few school chums while on campus. Looks like we're mostly in the same classes so instant study group has been formed.
Also talked to old friend Dan R. for first time in...well, a while (year+?).
Off to see Mom tomorrow at hospital.
Below the cut just venting my annoyance about certain insane Christians. May offend those who agree with them...
And finally, is today 'Give the Chrisitan Nutbags Press' day? I mean between Pat Robertson's (I refuse to given any religious appellation to one who espouses violence as this man does while claiming to be a servant of God) moronic commentary on assassinations (among other things) and some really stupid claims by alleged learned "Evangelical Scientists" is it any wonder I despise most organized religion? Sure they're not typical of most christians (or any faith for that matter) but the fact that they get so much serious attention is sickening. They should be roundly ridiculed for their stupidity and ignorance.
Sorry I was raised a christian. I don't need some moron trying to tell me science and religion are incompatible, thus religion should be what is followed or that we (America) should over throw the democratically elected government of another country on the basis that the leader is a communist and therefore an immenent threat. *rolls eyes*
I guess I just don't get how supposedly religious and devout people of any faith can spew their hatred and ideology in the face of what the bible/koran/torah/religious texts teach on living peaceably and productively. Science and religion are not mutually exclusive and can co-exist rather well if these idiots would get off the soap boxes and live in the real world like the rest of the human race.
Then again, maybe it's the three hours of sleep talking here. ;-)
