Friday!

In which I ramble on school, sunburns, BSG, and the Stargate marathon.

It's friday and the first week of classes have come to an end. Over all it went well, aside from the S&I prof getting slightly ticked when I refused to switch to the second lab to be with the rest of the astronautical engineers. I did have a valid reason: the lab time conflicted with my Astrophysics class, a tech elective I need to graduate, that I chose after they cancelled my preferred class, Computational Fluid Dynamics and had nothing more than  a passing interest in the Composite Aircraft Structures class. Oh well.

On a more amusing note I look a  bit like a lobster right now. Sunburn and all that. I was running a bit late this morning and forgot to apply the usual sunscreen. My friend MA and I got to talking while standing (ok I was sitting due to the ankle) outside, lost track of time, and we got crispy before too long. Heh. Got to love living in higher altitudes. You can get burned and not even realize it because it feels cool with the near constant breeze. At least I get three days to recover both from the burn and allow my ankle to rest a bit.

I have this strange, compelling urge to do an aeronautical study on a Viper. Yes, the imaginary aerospace fighters of Battlestar Galactica. Why? I don't know. I just do. This in and of itself is kind of silly considering little is known about the Vipers aside from general things like dimensions, the location of the ACS ports, the armaments, and  so on. As an AE I'm loathe to make assumptions about the power, propulsion, avionics, and so on in such an analysis.

From an aerospace engineering aspect, the Viper is a fascinating vehicle.

Stargate marathon tonight! Woohoo!

Ka-whoosh!
