Here we go, here we go, here we go again! Girls, what's my weakness?
No, not men.
It's "lack of willpower", and not just in TES, Oblivion. Doing Something Else is either my Achille's Heel or an as-yet undiagnosed pathology. I hope it can be medicated with something other than sleep or salty snackfoods, because I'm getting too much of the latter and craving the former to a concerning degree.
Today is my day off. "Hello, Day Off!" I greet it, "Now, what are we going to do with you?" My day off grins nervously and shuffles its left foot (if it had one). I begin to list off the options, which are not so much options as imperatives. "One: I phone all the places and people and companies on my list of Those Who Must Be Informed Of Our Address Change."
My day off winces.
"Two: I catch up on my school reading and possibly even write a response paper!"
My day off holds its head, obviously in some pain.
"Three: I get some exercise."
My day off doubles over as if struck heavily in the stomach.
"Four: I finally get some writing done so as to Prove I Am A Writer [see: Gravityslave's Ongoing Mission, season 3: Increasing Lack Of Audience] Five: I get some rest because I'm sick and I have a lecture to attend tonight. Six: I pack a lot more boxes full of things we won't need until at least next Thursday, because OH MY GOD WE'RE MOVING IN A WEEK AND I'M SO UNPREPARED!!!!!!"
By this point my day off is lying unconscious on the floor in a puddle of tears, trickles of blood oozing from its ears.
So, of course, I blog about it, and enter what someone cool once termed the Zen state of denial. Then I go play Oblivion, because those Daedric Shrine quests are pretty amusing.
Go, me.
