Today I worked My Sinatra with Cary Hoffman as a PA job. At first I thought he was a bit crazy because he wasn't dressed up at all and not warmed up. This radiacally changed over the night as he got ready and turned out to be amazing. His natural voice sounds so much like Frank. I didn't do a whole lot except before and after the show. I was Cary's personal assistant most of the time. I checked on his water and led him around because he kept getting the theatre mixed up. I even had to fight off an old woman who had come back stage. Cary was full of lots of good advice. This experience was a very valuable lesson. In the very least he talked to me about how the world runs and how he felt about it. He was very professional. He recommended his show to me for Mystic. It is called "What's a Country Like You Doing in a State Like This" aka lots of political commentary. I will have to order it when Va Woolf? is over and look into it. He said I could make any changes to update it. Plus that gives me a connection to the real theatre world since he runs an agency based out of NYC. Even if it doesn't mean that much, I can still aspire.
I don't know what draws me in to technical theatre, but I find fulfillment in it anyway. i really dont know. i had a great day even though I did nothing but that show. i even missed italian. i got home exhausted at 1am and brandon had a pancake party with all of our friends. so i had a pancake and am about to go to sleep. well i suppose that is valuable.
