[Since it's about high time he got around to it, Xigbar is once again hauling out the trebuchet he built last year. Where he's been keeping it all this time is anyone's guess, butit certainly shows no signs of having been out in the damp and rain all year long ( Read more... )

Science!

[Science that apparently involves... snowballs?]

Oh I love science! Did you build this yourself? I see you went with a counter-weight versus a tension rope. Much more power behind that design. I do hope you have no intention of laying seige to anything around here; seems like a quaint little area. Have you got cows? I love cows, delightful conversationalists.

Yep. Made it last year, with a little help from a... friend, I guess you could call him. And there's not exactly anything to lay seige to around here, or not with any real success.

Aaaaas for the cows, we don't have those but we've got a couple of wolves?

Wolves? Not werewolves, I'd hope - the last one got me into quite a bit of trouble with a very fine lady. Quite fine. Lovely. She was Not Amused.

Iiiiiii think we had one once? But he left. Not a bad kid, really.

Bad kid? Well kids themselves never are, but lupine wavelength haemovariforms from Vulpana are a particularly vicious race with very little inclination towards self-control. I shouldn't want to meet one again anytime soon.

What are you doing with a seige weapon then?

You wouldn't happen to know someone called [shuffles around in his pocket and pulls out a small leather wallet, studying it for a moment] Ichico?...No, Ichigo. I got a message telling me to go find the man somewhere in these general co-ordinates. This lovely little piece of work might but up for a little fun.

Ichigo, Ichigo... Can't say the name's horribly familiar. But hey, with all the people around you might just find him!

If I do happen to discover this individual, would you be minding terribly if I asked perhaps to have a little experiment of my own with your trebuchet? I've been told he is an individual that appreciates creative and dramatic introductions. I would feel terribly impolite if I were to disappoint a person on our first encounter.

Go right ahead. As long as she stays all in one piece, I don't mind.

Better than once piece. A right old riot after I'm through with her.

Then I've got no complaints whatsoever!
