Isaac
Since Scott was on a date (seriously?) Isaac took it upon himself to check up on Allison and see how she was doing with the whole catching Barrow thing. Now usually access to the Argent apartment was a hop, skip and a jump through a window but this time said window was electrified. So down he went, landing painfully on the ground a few stories down.
He should have expected that from Argents, let's be real.
Taking the elevator up like a normal human being was much easier and less painful. He found Allison in her father's office pretending not to notice him. She had to have heard the yelp outside her window though when Isaac fell.
"Electrified the windows?"
Allison
"Yep," she said, a hint of a smile playing across her face.
Isaac
"Don't want to say anything about it?" It hurt, damn it!
Allison
"Nope," she said, clicking through the beastiary absently. "What are you doing here?"
Isaac
"I figured you could use an extra pair of eyes." And he wanted to flirt. Like you do.
Allison
"Can you read Latin?" she asked.
Isaac
"No," Isaac said, leaning behind her chair so he could see the computer screen. He grabbed the mouse and started clicking randomly. "But I can look at pictures."
One random click and a picture of what looked to be an angry looking mask popped up. It looked Japanese but he couldn't be sure.
Allison
"This is useless without Lydia," Allison said, shutting her laptop. "I've got some books in my room, we can look in there."
Isaac
So it turned out "books" was not code for making out and Allison had actually wanted to try to find out what was with Barrow. Fine. He could do that.
He could do that while sitting behind her on her bed. 'Cause that was normal. "Find anything?"
Allison
"There's a reference about flies being able to carry messages to the dead. What about you?" Allison turned her head to look at Isaac and found herself practically kissing the guy he was so close.
She didn't know how she felt about that.
Isaac
"Oh just that Beelzebub? The lord of the flies?" That was murmured because it was totally the thing one says before trying to kiss somebody. So romantic.
Allison
For a second there Allison looked into it, but she quickly came to her senses and backed off. "Are you serious?"
Isaac
Isaac shook his head. "No, no I wasn't."
He was blatantly lying.
Allison
"Then what were you trying to do?" she asked. "Headbutt me?"
Isaac
"Alright. Maybe I was trying to kiss you." Just maybe.
Allison
"Are you completely totally out of your mind--do you think I would actually want to kiss you?" she said, totally sounding convincing here. "Or--or any other werewolf again because, trust me on this, I--I would never! Kiss you! Ever. Never ever."
If she kept saying it maybe it'd become true.
Isaac
This will either be the dumbest or most brilliant Isaac move had ever made. He didn't know what possessed him to take off his shirt, but he did it.
"Alright," he said. "I don't want to kiss you either."
Allison
For a second there, Allison looked at Isaac like he was nuts. But she knew a challenge when she saw one. So off went her shirt.
Your move, Lahey.
Isaac
Isaac's next move would probably have been something along the lines of sexily tackling Allison to the floor or something but a movement to his left distracted him.
Oh. Oh shit.
Chris
Oh shit indeed, Isaac. Because Chris Argent did not believe in knocking apparently and was now looking between Allison and Isaac like he was trying to consider who to kill first.
"Allison, can I see you in my office?" he asked calmly. Then, less calmly, "Where I keep my guns."
Isaac
Whelp, he was gonna die. He was a dead man. Especially after he heard Chris shout "ANOTHER WEREWOLF?!" from down the hall. Yep, he was gonna die. He should write out a will right now. He would leave everything to Scott.
Just as he was pulling his shirt on and contemplating his escape routes, the lights in the apartment flickered and went out. Which was...not normal.
Something brushed past Isaac, not touching him but he could feel the movement of air beside him. Isaac whipped around, trying to catch a glimpse but seeing nothing.
Then he got the strange feeling that there was something directly behind him. He didn't necessarily want to turn around but he knew it was inevitable...
Oni
And he'd come face to face with a creepy guy dressed in black. Actually five creepy guys dressed in black! And wearing masks! Hi, how are you doing?
The Oni directly in front of Isaac didn't move but the two to his sides reached out and grabbed his arms to keep him from moving.
Isaac
Isaac immediately started to struggle but it was no use. Whatever these things were they were stronger than him. Isaac could hear the door slamming shut and pounding on the other side which meant that he must have made some noise to let Chris and Allison know he was in trouble.
One of the remaining creepy guys came up behind him and forced his head forward, making him look into the eyes of the masked guy in front of him. Isaac zeroed in on the yellow-green eyes in front of him, transfixed by it for some reason.
Oni
Which is exactly what the Oni wanted. The Oni looked at Isaac, eyes glowing even more as it did its job. Isaac was shaking and getting weak quickly; but that was to be expected.
When it was satisfied, the Oni pressed his thumb behind Isaac's ear, burning a mark against his skin. Job done, the Oni dropped Isaac to the floor and vanished.
Isaac
Isaac wasn't even conscious of anything happening after he started looking at the creeper's eyes. He hit the floor with a thud and started shaking violently.
Allison
The Argents finally got the door open and Allison and Chris rushed in. Allison crouched down by Isaac's side. "Dad, he's freezing, what's happening to him?!"
Chris
"Isaac?" Chris said, trying to force Isaac to look at him. When that didn't work, he resorted to punching the kid in the face.
Which was normal, sure.
Allison
"What are you doing?!" This was not normal!
Chris
"Triggering the healing process!" Chris said, punching Isaac again. "Come on, Isaac!"
Isaac
The third punch pulled Isaac out of his little trance, causing him to wolf out for a second and push himself away from the jerks punching him.
When it became clear to him where he was and what had happened Isaac slumped against the foot of Allison's bed. He was still freezing and he felt...raw somehow. Like somebody had cracked him open and looked inside. Dramatic, but accurate terms.
"Did--did you see them?" Isaac said, unable to keep from crying.
Allison
Allison shook her head. "Who?"
Isaac
"The five of them...they wore black," Isaac said shakily. "I...I couldn't see their faces, they were covered."
Allison
"What do you mean, like masks?" Allison looked over at her father, who seemed to be unusually quiet at the moment.
Isaac
"All I could see was their eyes. They were greenish-yellow like...like a firefly." A really scary firefly, okay?
Chris
Chris got up and looked outside the windows. "Alarm hasn't been triggered. How'd they get in?"
Isaac
Isaac shook his head. "They didn't. It's like they came out of the shadows."
Allison
"Do you know what that means?" Allison asked, turning back to her father. "Dad?"
Chris
"I'm not sure," he lied. "Listen, the two of you, I need you to keep this quiet for a few hours."
Not suspicious at all.
Isaac
"From everyone?" Scott would not approve
Chris
"Just for a day," Chris said. "Give me twenty-four hours."
Allison
"They could have killed him, dad."
Chris
"But they didn't. And I think there was a reason why," Chris said. "I think they might have been after me."
