Have any of you seen Where the Wild Things Are yet? I've only heard good things, but I'm curious if there are any negative opinions. I'm going to see it tomorrow either way.
I uploaded the soundtrack if you wants it!
Where the Wild Things Are OST by Karen O and the Kids:
.mp3 on Mediafire Side note: I'm sick of all the "indie/hipster" debates going on about this movie. Not just the fact that it's apparently ~*~uncool~*~ for you to never have heard of the book and all of a sudden decide you want to jump on the Maurice Sendak train because you're in the indie/hipster scene and Where the Wild Things Are is where it's at right now... the mere fact that any of this crap is being discussed annoys the shit out of me. Who cares? I know, it's frustrating for those of us who actually read the book vehemently as kids, but accept the fact that because the movie was directed by Spike Jonze and the soundtrack is very indie-sounding, it's going to attract this genre and go on with your lives. All that matters is that you get the simplistic meaning behind it. It's not about being cool or condemning others for using it as a staple for coolness. It's about seeing a book you read as a kid in a new medium and through new eyes, hopefully bringing some of what you had as a kid out again, and appreciating the film for what it makes you feel.
I'm sorry if that sounds cheesy. It's just driving me nuts. As someone who enjoyed the idea of this book being made into a movie for the sheer excitement of a book I loved as a kid being made into a movie, hearing all the stupid debates about such an inconspicuous thing is totally ruining the whole experience for me.
