8 feel-good retro songs to usher in my new year

Breakout (Swing Out Sister) -  Nothing ever goes wrong in my day when I hear this song. Swear to God.

Roam (B-52s) - Best heard on mornings. Even better if you're on the road.

Better Than You (Lisa Keith) - If I get a copy of this song from someone, I'll consider that person a godsend. As in life-changing-person kind of godsend. No one probably remembers this song by its title but look it up on youtube and you'll recall just how happy 1993-1994 was.

Make It Easy On Me (Sybil) - one of the happier, chipper tunes ever sung for imminent heartbreak. I thought Corinne Drewery (Swing Out Sister) was good at those already. Her, and...

It's Too Late (Workshy) - Chrysta Jones! Ok ok not exactly feel-good but come on this just makes you feel so relaxed yet at the same time still in the mood for something to happen...that doesn't make sense I bet so let me just say I like this on a more personal note - it kinda sets things in perspective for me. Anyways...back to some more happy:

We Got A Love Thang (Cece Peniston) - I liked this more than Finally. It had a more out-and-loud jubilant feel to it.

Emotions (Mariah Carey) - I don't care how much people love (or approve) the Mariah Carey we have now.

Colored Kisses (Martika) - not Martika's best, but definitely one of her catchiest and one of those pop beats you just can't put down. Everything about the way she and her back-ups sing it...it's impossible to listen to this without budging your body to a single beat.

Nobody makes feel-good music nowadays the way they did it in the 80's or 90's. People made (genuinely) happier music back then.

I've been sampling music I once swayed my head to when I was generally a much younger and happier person (lolz)...and listening to them now...the beats, the riffs, the effects and the ad lib voices seem so out of place, but they had such a feel-good vibe you can't put down. A vibe that doesn't make you feel icky to dance to (not that I dance anyways) even if they're that dated. At least that's what I think ^^; Well anyways hope some of you liked these songs too and...here's wishing we all have a happier new year ahead of us! ^_^
