Update in Cincy!

Time for an update I think. It has been over a Month I think since I last did so. I have been a bit busy.

I found a home for my lovely sphorsah (the cat) in Alexandria, Egypt. I think its a good home. It was tough enough getting home without the cat, so it was good. I had to bribe the baggage handlers in Cairo to get all those bags on for under their asking price. I really miss Egypt, but I am making the best of being back home. I stopped in Germany for a bit and explored. Really I lack interest for most of Western Europe but it was still wonderful to experience.

My uncle mike just got done with his 19 hour surgery for the cancer in his mouth. Apparently it didn't go so well, but at least he beat the 50% chance of survival! I am still awfully worried about him. They had to take out is leg muscle to reconstruct his whole tongue, I don't know about him walking but he probably won't talk again. Right now he is in ICU in Chicago. He has been so depressed about all this, at least before the operation. He refuses any company, though I would really want to visit him. They think that this time they got all the cancer. Please keep him in your good thoughts.

As for me, I think I am doing pretty well. The temperature in the house is finally above 60 (though my bedroom is still a constant 55) so that's nice. I got enrolled in some pretty tough courses this term, but I need to get them out of the way soon anyways. I may not be free very much, but the ADD affords me some free time (haha, for better or worse!) throughout the day.

I am trying to get back into volunteering of some sort. I am striving for a position as an Applied Behavior Analisist (training included with the position) for working with an autistic adult male. Thats exciting, but if it falls through I plan to work with the homeless downtown. I think its time to be done with Hospice, it was way to depressing having friends die within 6 months. Not to mention the administrative changes were terribly more formalized than I liked.

I am looking forward to moving on with my life, wherever and whatever that will mean! There is many unknowns, but its all of the best kind I believe.
