So it has been three weeks. In those three weeks I was waiting to have internet at the flat before updating but that does not seem like something worth hoping for at the moment. We do however finally have a clothes washer! YEY! Clean Clothes!
As usual, so much has happened since my last update. Though if anyone really reads these I am not entirely sure.
I went to Alexandria!!! Finally! It was magnificant! The library was so amazing! As were the number of other sites I visited. It really was so cool!
I just about have all the plans worked out for Istambul as well! Actually its no longer just istambul ;)
So this trip is now as such: Istambul for 4 days (including the black sea inch'alla), a visit to Troy and maybe some other parts of Turkey, going to the Greek Isles, the major visit being Lesbos where we will fly into Athens (hopefully the weather will be kind this time) for a day or so, and then back to Cairo just in time for classes and some sleep. 10 days total.
Of course the time and cost negates the possibilities to other parts of this region. Though Andrea has offered to go to Luxor and Aswan with me, which I do look forward to very much. I have really wanted to see abu simbel for some time ... my father had a model of it in the basement and I admired it so much as I child. Not to mention all the temples along the way are amazing! and this is really my chance! I wouldnt go alone obviously, nor with a large group. I am so lucky that someone wanted to go too.
However I am pretty sure Mt. Sianni and Jordon are both scrapped hopes for now.
Other than these things: I miss food! I miss chipole's buritos! Big Boys Fish! SkyLine's Cheese Coneys! Goetta! Jason's HankyPanky! MmmmmM! I daydream of such great things! White Castle! Cinnabun!
But Ramadan is half over. I have mixed feelings about that... I will surely miss many things about it.
Oh, and lastly, pictures should be on there way soon... I must find a way to post almost a gig worth of bulk images online at once at somewhat of a decent speed. We will see.
