anasthesia

I had my wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon at ten, Monday morning.

I tried not to freak out when they put the IV in, just kinda groaned a little, and the doctors said I did good. I don't remember much from the time the doc put the sedative in the drip and told me it would be two minutes before I was out, and then all I knew was waking up sobbing. My mom was there, she was holding my hand, while the other female nurse kept telling me to keep my eyes open. I think I dreamed somewhere in between, of running and wolves and forests. I can't remember.

All I know is that I was stumbling out the door to the OR, being held up by two nurses, and kind of thrown into the van. I slept until Bell street, then woke up a bit. Britt helped Mom support me up the steps to our house. Then, I was out again for forty-five minutes while Mom went to get my prescription stuff. I was fairly drowzy all day, off-kilter in walking, and my gums hurt pretty bad. There was a little bit of swelling, which just generally sucked... imagine one whole side of your mouth, gums and tongue and everything, swollen up and tender. Yeah. Suck.

I can't have carbonated beverages until Saturday.

There are stitches in one side of my mouth which will dissolve, fall out, or have to be removed by my surgeon, Dr. Graves on Monday. Fun!

Today was a bit better, we went and got my schedule, some stuff at Walmart, my note from work (I can't go back 'til Thursday) and then George came to hang out with us. We watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Click. I enjoy being around him more and more... I can't wait until I live with him.

Anyways... now that my darvocet is kicking in... I shall go to surf the internetz.
