After I thwarted her bed-peeing efforts, Brandy's new bad behaviour was to break through the screen right next to the patio door. I mean, really. So when attempts to stop her from doing it failed because my parents wouldn't continue the behavioural modifications in my absence, I did the next best thing. I installed a doggie door in the same spot. At first she was frightened of it and did anything to avoid it, which worked in a roundabout sort of way because that meant she didn't go through the screen anymore. Then she figured out how to get in and out of it and uses it like an emergency escape hatch. Grandpa left her outside and she wants to come in? Escape hatch! Mommy's Jeep is pulling into the driveway after a trip to the grocery store? Escape hatch! Sometimes no just doesn't work and you have to say, "Be my guest."
