So, I just looked at my blog.... December 18, 2006.... Yeeeah.... Totally time to write a new blog post, lol.
However, I swear, I DO have a reason for this blog....
BREAKING DAWN!!!!
So, all of my friends who are actually my friends (you know who you are people) KNOW that I am completely OBSESSED with The Twilight Saga.... (Seriously, just look at my current Avatar: It's Edward punching out Jacob!!! [Sorry, Jess!!!])
ANYWAY.
So, I was at the Breaking Dawn release party with my friends Rachel and Jess (yeah, the Jacob-obsessive girl), and we all finished the scavenger hunt pretty quickly.... There wasn't really a costume party or any of that jazz, but it was still pretty cool--a lot of people dressed up in prom attire and stuff....
I went in a pink and black dress, and Ray stole my cape and she was my "Volturi Mistress" and I was her "Prom-date snack".... Jess was herself (aka: Alice).
However, there was one thing that made the night SO MUCH BETTER:
THE ZOO HUMAN PROJECT.
(Aka: The Band of Awesomeness!!)
(Awesome name, too!!)
No, seriously, people, this group is AMAZING. They've got a sort of Indie-Rock style working for them. I sat at a table in the Borders Bookstore Café for practically the entire night until they started selling the books listening to The Zoo Human Project. As you all know, I am hugely into music (it's my major, so, yeah….), and you all know, when there is a band I like, I become a fan for life. Sitting at a table for hours until midnight….
With my short attention span and that type of dedication, you KNOW that they're good.
The Zoo Human Project immediately caught my interest.
The lead singers, Derek Martinez and Jen Cordero, are a musical duo and have outstanding voices that blend very well. And the drummer, Kevin Sakamoto, has an amazing sense of time and a great beat.
Martinez has a voice that totally rocks, and he sure does know how to use it! He can sing fast jams like "In the High Place" and then go to slower songs like "Gravity" (a duet with Cordero), and on both styles, his voice will capture you.
Cordero has a voice like an angel, and it just soars. (Listen to "We Can". Enough said.) But don't let that fool you!! She is so sweet, but her voice sure can pack a punch, too!! (Listen to "Duality".)
Though every band of this genre should always have a guitar and a few amazing singers, no band can survive without a beat. Sakamoto's outstanding talent brings this to The Zoo Human Project on his drums. (Listen to "Seizure" on the band's CD, Naissance, if you have the chance to.)
All in all, The Zoo Human Project is an extraordinary band with a unique sound!!
I highly recommend checking out their page at www.myspace.com/thezoohumanproject!!
Enjoy the music!!!
