The Charitable Giving Campaign ended Tuesday, November 15, but I'm still taking paperforms. The goal was to reach $50,000, and we're sitting around $42,300. Honestly, I'm really pleased with the money we raised this year; last year we only netted about $32,000. Good stuff, I tell ya. I'm still waiting on getting a copy of the video so I can critique my speech. I want to practice my public speaking for my REAL promotion which should be coming early in the next year.
The girls are doing well. I'm worried about Katie and her math skills; she's showing some of the same struggles I did when I was her age. I don't want her to have those same feelings of "not getting it" and hopelessness. I'm just not sure how to help her grasp the concepts because I still have issues "getting it" myself. Kara absolutely loves school, but did get in trouble the other day for retaliating against a little boy who pushed her down; she almost scratched him in the face. Thankfully, the teacher saw what was going on before Kara could make contact. Oh, the joys of parenthood!
One of our local radio stations started playing Christmas music today. Is it terrible that I'm streaming it at work? I really couldn't resist...seriously...too much pull at my heart strings! Speaking of music, I hope the Shenster hosts the annual swap again. I love getting all of those amazing mixes in the mail.
D and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage in May. We have to decide what we're going to do...any ideas?
