My life lately has been work, Dan, and sleep.
Being in a pool will exhaust you. If you're treading water in the deep end and a little girl is jumping into your arms but doesn't want to get her face wet and it's up to you to hold her above water while you push her to the wall using only your legs, it will exhaust you. I'm teaching 21 lessons a week now (ten and a half hours) and getting paid quite well by the half hour. In total I'm working around 30-40 hours a week depending on when I waitress. I am so happy I took the Cabana (waitress) job. I've met 3 funny/awesome guys and we make the time go by doing a variety of games that are detrimental to our grill.
My birthday was last Thursday. The day before Dan took me to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and then we made macaroni and cheese. The next day (my actual birthday) I taught lessons in the morning, lifeguarded, then taught more lessons. From work I went to Casa Bonita with Nick and Dan for my birthday dinner. We choked down what we could of the microwaved, velveeta cheese covered "authentic mexican food" and walked around. It was disappointing because I remember Casa Bonita being the coolest place when I was little. Everything seemed smaller. We picked up Eddie and played pool for awhile and then went to the 24-hour Starbucks.
On Saturday I went rafting with the church buddies and we got hailed on for a good hour of the trip. It was so fun. There were flash floods and mudslides everywhere so instead of white water rafting, I can say I brown water rafted.
Last night Dan took me out to dinner for my final birthday present. We went to Barolo Grill. It's hard to describe the night because so many thing about it were good. The night ended with him leaving in a pair of my pink pajama pants.
I got a puppy. He's adorable. His name is ChaBuddha, or "Chewy" for short.
Life has been pretty good.
