I am ridiculously excited after finishing Eclipse.
And kind of glad I didn't catch up until now, as Breaking Dawn is scheduled for release in Spring next year. Not that six months makes much difference but... it makes a difference to me? *shakes head instead of shrugging*
Oh and be glad I didn't post a comment from my phone EVERY TIME I found something to comment on.
I seriously have eleven temporary bookmarks wedged into the last two thirds of Eclipse. And I am so going to comment on it now.
Of course, you will also be treated to another rant about Bella's haemophobia. It's worse than some of the vegetarians/vegans I know. Mind you... they mostly react to animal blood... though I do know a couple of people who react badly to human blood, though not something as minor as a cut. So. Bella has REALLY REALLY REALLY bad case of haemophobia. And apparently Tsunade from Naruto has a case of it too.
Well, there's your factoid for today. *has only just looked up haemophobia on Wikipedia*
Also, 3vil_m3xican, your phobia must be related to trypanophobia, which is the fear of injections/needles. Maybe it's trypanhaemophobia.
Anyway... must not get distracted by her site... but it looks as if we will be lucky if it did come out Spring (for us southern hemispherers).
I am still disappointed by lack of hitsuzen or consecutive kismet mentions. Although I would think that any of the other characters might've done. (Namely, Alice)
273: When Edward says he's being selfish and Bella mentally rebukes right back at him. It amuses me, especially when it's obvious that they're both equally selfish.
317: The bit that made me stop for five minutes and add to the conclusion that vampirism is a virus that stops the functioning of vital organs, transmutes normal cells into super hard ones and changes their metabolism to derive energy from blood and its proteins. I am thoroughly pissed not one of the Cullens is scientifically minded enough to investigate this further. Also, this is why I shouldn't be allowed juicy brain food, because I also began thinking about mass and energy concerning the werewolves and how their high temperature and appetites are part of that. My current theory is that the high heat consumes and produces the mass as well as the accelerated growth. There would be a significant spike in their body temperature as the phased. (See! I shouldn't be give brain food!)
And that was just halfway down the page and not even the bit about how Bella should challenge Emmett to an arm-wrestling match. That made me giggle for more than I spent thinking about scientific theory.
337: The whole dialogue from the beginning at Bella's house about how she punched Jacob because he kissed her. PRICELESS
364: Charlie's reaction to Alice over doing the whole graduation party.
408-9: The whole Jacob and Edward being nice to each other and plotting how all the battle was going to work out. So CUTE.
The Seth thing was too, because I was eyeing (figuratively) all the people present at that bonfire.
The whole 'Compromise' chapter, but specifically 454-455: The whole chapter had me either rolling in laughter or figuring out ways Bella could get her wish without being at rick of harm. Sadly there was none, but there was one that nicely lead on to her being bitten.
Er... yeah. But the thing about Edward's virtue had me giggling.
And judging by how many hand-me-downs Edward has, for a turn of the century family, I'd say they were pretty well off. Upper-middle class and sticking to Victorian values. Only... he wouldn't have an English accent like Carlisle would have a trace of. Unless Carlisle has the ORIGINAL English accent that the Americans have supposedly kept. Which would just suck, as I've been imagining him with a soft modern English accent. *pouts and is displeased with that idea*
466-475: Pretty much from Alice being excited about being let to organise the wedding to Jacob saying that she's got a rock on her bracelet and her thinking about whether it's a diamond. Again, I go crazy and point out her haemophobia over something as small as a cut on her own hand.
480-81: I wrote on my bookmark 'I have unspecified feelings for you'. That pretty much describes what I thought about that and subsequent discussions with Jacob. Except not so unspecified. She does love him, though only in a way that can be properly defined with a lot of adjectives and possibly in another language. ENGLISH SUCKS.
524: Mostly I bookmarked this because I found it funny that he asked to be her best man and that was just *grin*. Of course, the rest of the page and the facing page made me get irritated...
586-87: Charlie talking about things Jacob said while he was healing. I am amused, especially since 250 pages earlier he was arguing Jacob's case.
622: The last funny of the book was with Leah. It made me snicker so hard when he mentioned that Emily would so not like it if the rest of the pack started staring after Sam.
Honestly, I'm glad that there are no yaoi-ish pairings at all evident in the Twilight series, but that just made me laugh because it was purely ridiculous.
I'm going to try ridiculously hard not to delve into the writers part of the Twilight fandom, unless there's some obscure part that only writes about Carlisle/Esme, as they both get the occasional highlights, but it's so irritating that it's not consistent. Mostly because I don't want any notions in my head when Breaking Dawn comes out and ties most things up. (It looks to be set a year or so ahead of the end of Eclipse. Maybe.)
Before I forget, I know I now have to imagine Jasper with a deep South accent. Which will just make me crack up. Even if I leave out the 'sha's. I actually quite liked that backtracking bit for him. I like the back tracking for all of them. Especially for the ones that just haven't. Like Esme and Emmett.
Anyway, now looking at her website and being entrenched in the FAQ (my laptop gets disgruntled over PDFs). Apparently she liked Shannon Hale's 'A Book of a Thousand Days'. *fact dropping entirely for dawnduskdancer*
I need to compile all the tracks I have access to for the playlists she creates. While the variety dissapoints me, at least I can replace some of my comments on the Linkin Park tracks about Ed (FMA Ed, stupid people) and... actually, I just checked and none of the Linkin Park tracks she mentions have any self typed comments.
Huh.
Maybe that song that is perfect for an FST, Envy of Angels, by The Muttonbirds would fit somewhere.
Anyway, I need to keep away from the fandom, except for art. I may write stuff, because I concoct ideas while I'm reading ANYWAY, but it'd still be nice to talk to people without the getting of notions. As much as I'd love to read other people's fic about their exploits after, I'd rather take the gamble that Stephenie Meyer herself will be put under pressure from her fans to write that. (She's one of those authors that seem to like writing fanfic for their own story.)
Also, I just remembered I took my dad's book off the second shelf and Thief of Time on the top one so I could put Making History on the same shelf. (Totally pointless comment, but this means the entire Twilight series is on the same shelf, along with Making History.) We need more bookcases, although I'll probably remove half of the contents on those shelves when I move out. (We don't buy many books, but we do have quite a few. Including medical texts which, while I will leave here when I move out, I will replace with newer versions because reading medical dictionaries is fun. While I would never become a nurse or doctor (contrary to my intense love of biology) I love stuff like that. Maybe I should've asked for that GIANT human body atlas in Dymocks as well... Anyway, that kind of explains my love for characters like Ryuuken and Carlisle. And someone else. I forget who now, but it was another fictional character. Those three almost make me change my mind about being a graphic designer.)
Long ramble aside, to be replaced with another one: does anyone else who has even seen the cover for Eclipse get reminded of ED1 of Bleach, Life is Like a Boat? Urge to write an email asking if she (or her publishers) is familar of the Eastern concept of invisible red strings tying people together. Or spirit threads. *cracks up* *thinks of xxxHOLiC and how she is annoyed about the whole hitsuzen thing* *cracks up again*
Damn you CLAMP and Kubo. You make things too easy to cross over. *can imagine Watanuki turning over the red ribbon in his hands and wondering what on hell it is while Ichigo is several kilometres away and is being strangled by his own reiryoku*
Even though in the mighty CLAMP/Bleach crossover in my head, Ichigo is not associated with Rukia. At the moment. I thought it would be more dramtic for the Tomoyo + Orihime scene if both of their crushes were going out with their friend.
Anyway, be glad I didn't do this kind of thing with New Moon. I actually think I covered most of it here. Except the bit that if Breaking Dawn is going to end with Bella being turned, I will be throughly frustrated at there being two WHOLE books spent on sorting things out.
Now, to write about Legal Drug and Hogfather and... something else. Damn my memory.
