Feeling retrospective today, due the sad anniversary.
So, I looked back over my infrequent public postings. I see that I wrote this about Lloyds back in Apr 2007:
It wouldn't surprise me if they have managed to be so incapable that there is no law to cover it, that no-one has thought to say "banks shouldn't do this". I honestly believe that there should be someone to be held responsible for what they have done and be taken to court.
Although just based on personal experience, I'm thinking that this pretty much covers all the banking bigwigs now. How impotent is society these days in things that matter? Too much crying wolf, as driven by those who created this media-driven society. That Bond film is probably closer to the truth than one thinks.
I also wrote this, sarcastically, about that one-eyed Scottish twat (thanks Clarkson):
Gordon will spearhead the British Empire into an extraordinary era. The country will be transformed. Britain's position as a global power will be cemented. British society's class boundaries will be stripped, and the economy will blossom like never before. Quality of living will be massively improved. And we will all be able to sleep better knowing we live in a safe Britain that is helping other countries survive the global changes ravaging their population.
It is not fair to blame him for everything! The point I was trying to make was that Brown would not be able to stop it happening. It is easy to be a doomsayer and say 'I told you so'.
Oh well.
