Tutorial #6: Heath Ledger
Tutorial: Heath Ledger (icon for actor_lims, Mod's choice)

Going from THIS to this:
in PS7.
-Step one:-
Crop your base. DO NOT SHARPEN! Mine is sharpened, but only because I went back and sharpened it afterwards.
-Step two-
Duplicate your base and set it to screen, opacity 43%:
-Step three-
New fill layer: #0C2A40 set to exclusion, opacity 73%:
-Step four-
Another fill layer: #DBF5FD set to soft light, opacity 100%:
-Step five-
Select all (ctrl+a) and copy the merged image (ctrl+shift+c or edit>>copy merged). Paste it as a new layer. Set it to color burn, opacity 100%:
-Step six-
Add THIS texture (made by me). Duplicate it and turn the visibily off on the top layer (click the little eye next to the layer to turn visibility on or off). Set the visible layer to color burn, opacity 62%:
-Step seven-
Turn the visibility on on the top layer. Go into filter>>blur>>gaussian blur>>radius: 3,3 px. Set that layer to multiply, opacity 38%:
-Step eight-
Now for the little circle. Open a new canvas and drag your base into it. Using the eliptic selection tool, select the part of the base you want to use (press shift to make a perfect circle). Copy it and paste it back into your icon on top of all the other layers. Duplicate it and set it to screen, opacity 40%. Merge down (ctrl+e). Duplicate your merged layer and set it to soft light, 80%. Merge down again.
-Step nine-
Go back to your base and sharpen it. Then go into edit>>fade sharpen and fade it to somewhere around 70%. Do the same for the circle layer. Then add text and brushes and whatnot and you're done!
I would love some comments, and to see what everyone came up with! =)
Erm...I'd like to post the layer palette, but I'm stupid or something and can't figure out how to. So if someone could tell me how to I would love you.
