He is using BobCad 21, but that doesn't seem to be helping me with my googling. And I am way out of my depth with 3D stuff; I'm just a print designer. I am going to see if it's something as simple as unix formatting of the file that's created, but otherwise I am at sea...

Have you tried just exporting it and sending it to them?

Illustrator should convert it to a standard DXF file without a problem.

Yeah, I tried that, and he says the files are huge and missing lines. It is weird that Illustrator has the export options but they somehow don't work. Seems like something is missing in this equation...
