It's a bit... awkward and inelegant. It doesn't *look* like a buffalo.

The leading is loose and inconsistent, and the detached tip of head/tail/legs only serve to make it harder to read and to look less like a buffalo.

Somewhere in this community's past, there's a link to a portfolio containing a "BUFFALO" logo that's shaped just like a buffalo, looks like a buffalo, and works really well. While yo obviously shouldn't rip it off, it'd be good to find it and see what the designer did - the pieces fit together much better, were easier to read, and didn't include any extraneous/non-letter bits.

Not the one from the memories, but here's another buffalo-shaped logo with text:

I've seen this one a few times lately in logo blogs and stuff: http://www.bspcn.com/2009/01/03/20-weird-logos-that-work-and-why-they-do/

(scroll down to the "BISON" logo)...

Funny, the one you linked there really, really doesn't work for me. It's got a lot more "Spanish bull" than it has bison/buffalo.

Agreed. Tail too long, head too big. Bull, not buffalo.
