Seeking advice for going after magazine internships
Checked the tags and didn't see anything directly related--
My professional goal as a design student is to work as an editorial designer. I'm currently entering my sophomore year at the University of Florida as a design major, and I want to get an internship with a magazine either next summer or the summer between junior and senior year. I can imagine that internships with real magazines (meaning, not a local newspaper insert) are hard to come by and super-competitive, so I was wondering if any of you had interned at a magazine (or applied for said internships) and have any tips for me in preparation or getting ahead of other hopeful applicants?
