where else can i get experience?
1. do freelancers ever take interns? is this a good idea?
2. what about a 170,000-circulation newspaper? they're looking for "ad builders".
3. print shops?
4. any other unconventional ways to get some experience? not freelancing.
5. if you were looking at people's resumes, would you judge these internships any differently from people who had interned at *air quotes* graphic design firms?
i'm mostly self-taught (university was a disaster!) and i haven't done an internship yet. i checked the internship tag and i'm clear on everything that people expect their interns to know. but all of the local brick and mortar graphic design places are two buses away, and it snows quite a bit here, which makes the buses grind to a halt. i'm getting very discouraged and more antsy about moving to toronto.
