Lately it seems that design-wise, I've been fighting a constant, daily battle against self-doubt and lack of confidence in my talent (or the existence thereof). What advice have you for a baby freshman design student? I've barely a semester of university art classes under my belt, and I'm finding it difficult to trust in my abilities right now, 90% of which were self-taught through experimentation.
What things have worked to boost your confidence, besides trying to power through and work creatively each day? I'm just absolutely stuck and I trust the experience of my older and/or wiser fellow designers.
Edit: Thank you all for the words of wisdom. I suppose I'm just rushing myself into freelancing and not understanding why I don't seem to be up to par. My university always seems to want you to grow up faster than you are ready for, and I think I'm drinkin' that Kool-Aid a bit. I'll take your advice and let myself grow in talent naturally, instead of trying to force myself to be the best :) Thanks. <3
