Intranets Anyone?

Hey guys,
My latest undertaking involves completely redesigning our company's intranet site.
You can find a excellent  article on current trends here (http://www.useit.com/alertbox/intranet_design.html).
Since intranets typically can only be accessed in house by those company employees, how would you go about looking for design ideas for one?
Anyone ever work on or manage one?
Any tips or insights greatly appreciated!
