How do you know if Graphic Design is right for you?
i wrote pretty much an essay and it go deleted so i'm going to shorten it up this time
1. I currently am 17 and about to go to college, I've been accepted to two art colleges that I am looking into
2. I love looking at the great art on here and deviant art
3. Love spending time working on creating these types of art
4. THE PROBLEM: i currently am terrible, and incomparable to the people on those two sites
So what I am wondering, is how do you know if you can be successful being a graphic designer? I love it and love working with it, but at the same time i know that what i make is no where near a professional level, which I don't expect it to be yet, but I'm not sure when going to college if your supposed to have a basic knowledge in the field of graphic design and be at least decent with all the programs and be able to make decent ads, logos, packing ect, or is it ok to go into it with just a love for what you know and a desire to learn more? I'm just not sure that in 4 years, from where I am now, that I will be able to make the same quality art that professionals are making now.
Before you went to college had you already have lots of experience and knowledge? Or did you start off from scratch?
