The aquarium, which has been sitting there half-full of unsightly water for __ (not sure how many) years has been dismantled, scrubbed, parts have been replaced, and happy little fish (that don't poop much - that was one problem with the last inhabitants of the tank which nearly scared us away from fish ownership forever) are swimming around in their happy new home!
This gives some critters a place to live, gives our cat something to look at, and fills the living room with the bubbly, soothing sound of a filter on a constant basis, in addition to improving the place esthetically by a great deal.
