Ughhhh, so tiiiired. Work has been pretty stressful this week.
Nothing exciting has really happened in my life, so that's why I haven't really posted anything. I generally try to at least make my posts somewhat interesting if I can help it.
Got snow tires installed today. Figured that it couldn't hurt in addition to the auto 4WD I have. I know that doesn't mean I'm accident proof but at least I feel a lot safer. Also, I couldn't have timed it any better -- snowstorm that's hitting us started not even two hours after the tires got installed. I love it when I win.
So I got to drive my little Coraline with her new snow tires for the first time. It was exciting but nerve racking. I worked up the courage to tackle a couple hills and she seemed to handle it okay. All things considered, I don't think I did too badly, especially considering that visibility went to hell pretty fast. But I think I'm going to need to take my car to an empty lot later tonight so I can practice skidding and other things, because I haven't really driven in snow before and don't want to be a danger to other people. Because what I hear the most is that snow accidents are usually because of people who don't know how to drive properly in the snow. Or the ones that have snow tires and 4WD and assume they can just drive around normally. I'm sure tires and other vehicular things play a role as well, but yeah. I don't really want to be one of those dangerous people if I can help it.
Anyway. So that's what going on here. Snowstorm with the kind of snow that's slushy and sticks everywhere. We probably won't get much (they're saying six to eight inches; I'm betting more like four), but everyone is freaking out nonetheless. I'm more nervous for my boyfriend up in NYC, where they're predicting a foot to a foot and a half. Or my friends in Boston, who are expecting two feet. So...sending all my good karma that way.
