I'm back. again. yay. summer is way to close to being over though. I met clio at the lourve in Paris, which was cool, but then she and my p2p friends got lost, without me. It was sad. When stef and katie were found clio had already left. Sad. What is also sad is the fact that after spending 20 days with these people I'm probably never going to see them again, well, there was talk of a reunion but that hardly counts. I mean some of them live in DC and some of them I really wont miss...at all, but the philly and new york kids i do like and the ones i never really got to know as well as i would have liked... they're as good as memories. I can talk to them on IM but it's only a matter of weeks before the conversations run dry. Last night i had the TV on, I wasn't really paying attention but then I heard it. "It's a beautiful day/ Sky falls, you feel like/ It's a beautiful day/ Don't let it get away..."Its not the greatest song, U2 has certainly done better work, but the strange coincidence of hearing that song, the song I had been forced to listen to every one of the last 20 days...and have you ever listened to the lyrics? It fits so perfectly, even the "touch me/ take me to that other place" line captures our crazy Austrian delegation manager, who did a cage dance for us in a medieval Austrian castle, like no photograph ever could. And "You're on the road/ But you've got no destination" is our last night in Paris when katie jake and I snuck out and took the last metro to the latin quarter only to find ourselves wandering down the champs elysees surrounded by clubs we couldn't get into with several hours to kill before the metro that returned to our hotel started up again. Sigh. But enough reminiscing. It's a beautiful day...
