Being a mommy...

Sometimes during motherhood, you have those moments with your kids in which you realize exactly why you wanted to become a mother in the first place. Tonight was one of those times. Thayana woke up crying, which was no surprise due to the fact that the T.V. was blaring unusually loudly. We turned it down and I went in to caress her forehead and tell her that it was ok. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough and she ended up crying even louder a few minutes after I left. When I came back, she was sitting up in bed and very upset. I asked her if she had had a bad dream, and she told me she had. I offered her some juice, and she said she wanted some. When I got her to the kitchen, she complained that she needed to go potty right away. I ran with her back to the toilet, just barely making it in time for her to relieve her bladder. While she was on the toilet, I got her some juice and took her back to bed. She drank a little juice and settled back in, much more comfortable.

After a few minutes, Thayana reached up and kissed my chest. She whispered, "You're perfect" in her sweet little voice.

After a surprised pause, I kissed her forehead and told her, "I love you SO much."

Then she let out a huge fart. I asked, "WHAT was that?!" She just smiled and settled in, kissed my chest again and then kissed me on the lips, and fell back to sleep.

I laughed so hard.
